Ser and Estar Rules
Ser and Estar are the two Spanish verbs that mean "to be". Loosely, "ser" is used to define more permanent characteristics, while "ester" is used for more temporary characteristics. Otherwise, they are identical in meaning, so they need a bit of practice to get them right.
