How to Get the TI-83 on Your Computer

Have you ever forgotten your calculator at school? Wanna save weight and leave your calculator at school. These days, teachers have made it almost impossible to do math homework without your trusty TI-83 calculator. This How-To will show you how to get the TI-83 on your Windows computer, and it's all supported by Texas Instruments.

Steps

  1. Go to the download page here
  2. Open the link TI-83 Plus SDK.
  3. Click "Save" on the dialog box that comes up.
  4. Open the file that you saved "83psdk_setup.exe".
  5. Install the program.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. After restarting there will be an icon on your desktop called TI-83 Plus Flash Debugger
  8. Open it..
  9. Click on the icon of a paper then TI-83 Plus, or File-> New-> TI-83 Plus.
  10. Click on the play button, or Debug-> Go.
  11. Your calculator is ready to use.

Tips

  • This may be used for more advanced calculators also, but a new skin is required
  • You can use some keys on your keyboard for certain functions, such as numbers or enter
  • Use this only for emergencies, as it is slower to use than the actual thing

Warnings

  • Don't overuse this method because clicking on the individual buttons with your mouse is much slower than clicking buttons on your calculator.
